- 5 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 cake yeast
- 1/2 c. water (lukewarm)
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening.

3Add buttermilk and yeast; work together with large spoon until flour is moist.

4Cover bowl and put in refrigerator until ready to use.

5Take out as needed.

6(Can either drop them or roll biscuits.)

7Roll on floured board until 1/2-inch thick.

8Cut out biscuits and bake at 400° for 12 minutes.

9Dough will keep for several weeks.
