- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 3 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water.

2Sift all dry ingredients together in large bowl.

3Add shortening, buttermilk and yeast; mix well.

4Turn out onto floured surface; knead well.

5Cover; refrigerate. When ready to bake, pinch off as much dough as needed.

6Keep remaining dough in refrigerator.

7Roll out amount you are using to about 1/2 inch thickness.

8Let sit in pan to rise for 15 to 20 minutes. Bake in 375° oven until brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.
