  • 6 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1/3 c. water
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in c. warm water

Directions

    Cut shortening into flour; add remaining ingredients and mix well.

    Knead dough on floured surface and roll into 1/2-inch thickness.

    Cut biscuits and place on greased pan.
