- 1/3 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. vegetable shortening
- 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift flour, sugar, salt and soda together.

2Cut in shortening. Add yeast and buttermilk.

3Knead well.

4(It may be necessary to knead in more flour.)

5Cut out biscuits and bake at 450°.

6Dough may be covered and refrigerated for a week.
