- 5 c. sifted self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Combine flour, soda and sugar; cut in shortening and stir in yeast and buttermilk.

2Be sure to mix well.

3Keep covered in refrigerator for at least an hour or two before using (this is important to the success of the recipe).

4Roll out and cut as desired.

5Place on greased pan.

6Let rise for 2 hours.

7Bake at 450° for about 10 minutes.
