- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2In large bowl, put flour and cut in shortening and sugar.

3Add yeast, buttermilk and soda.

4Mix well.

5Cover bowl tightly and put in refrigerator for 2 hours before using.

6Take out as much as is needed and roll on floured board or waxed paper and cut into biscuits.

7Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or maybe a little more.

8Dough will keep for several days in refrigerator.
