- 5 c. flour (all-purpose)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Mix together the first 5 ingredients.

2Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3Add yeast and buttermilk to dry ingredients and stir with a fork to form a soft dough.

4Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead briefly.

5Store in tightly sealed plastic bag in refrigerator.

6Pat dough.

7Do not let rise at any time.

8Bake at 425° on greased cookie sheet until lightly browned.

9Dough lasts a week and yields a dozen biscuits per day.
