- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. very warm water
- 3 c. wheat flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3 tsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. baking powder
- 2 c. buttermilk *
- 1/2 c. butter, margarine or Crisco
Directions

1Place yeast in the water and let stand for 5 minutes.

2In large bowl stir together the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and sugar.

3By hand or pastry blender, cut the shortening into mixture. Add the dissolved yeast and the buttermilk; mix together well. Refrigerate in tightly closed bag.

4The dough will keep for 5 days.
