- 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. pecans, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Preheat oven to 300°.

2Beat egg whites until foamy.

3Beat in salt and cream of tartar.

4Add sugar, a tablespoon at a time, beating after each addition.

5Continue beating until stiff peaks form.

6Fold in nuts and vanilla.

7Spoon into lightly buttered 8-inch pie pan to form a nest-like shell.

8Build up sides at least 1/2-inch above edge of pan.

9Bake at 300° for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool.
