Ingredients

  • 1 lb. chicken livers, cooked
  • 1 onion
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • 3/4 c. applesauce
  • 1 c. chicken broth
  • 4 slices cooked bacon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. cognac
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/3 c. butter

    Put melted butter in blender; add peeled onion.

    Chop.

    Cook together the remaining ingredients (except eggs, bacon and applesauce).

    Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Mix applesauce, bacon and eggs with butter mixture in blender, then add cooked liver mixture to blender.

    Blend together and remove to a serving dish and chill.

    Garnish with olives, parsley or your favorite garnish.
