- 2 eggs
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. anise seed
- 1 c. flour
Directions

1Heat oven to 375°.

2Grease and flour a loaf pan 9 x 5 x 3-inches.

3Beat eggs and sugar thoroughly; add anise seed. Gradually mix in seed and flour.

4Spread this stiff batter in prepared pan.

5Bake about 20 minutes or until toothpick stuck in center comes out clean.

6Pan will be only 1/4 full.

7Remove from pan and cut loaf into sixteen 1/2 inch slices.

8Place on buttered baking sheet.

9Bake 5 minutes until slices are brown.

10Turn and bake 5 minutes more.

11Cool.

12Good with fruit and hot tea.
