- 4 oz. butter
- 1 c. rolled oats
- 1 c. plain flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda
- 2 Tbsp. golden syrup
- 1 c. dried coconut
- 1 c. brown sugar
Directions

1Melt butter and syrup in a large saucepan.

2Mix bicarbonate of soda with boiling water and add to melted butter. This will froth up, so make sure saucepan is large enough.

3Mix dry ingredients and add to saucepan.

4Mix well to make a firm consistency. Drop teaspoonfuls onto well-greased baking trays, leaving space to spread.

5Bake in a moderate oven for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.

6Loosen on trays while still hot and allow to cool on trays, then transfer to wire racks and allow to cool.
