- 1 c. rolled oats
- 3/4 c. desiccated coconut
- 1 c. plain flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda
- 2 Tbsp. boiling water
- 1 c. sugar
- 125 gm (4 oz.) butter
- 1 Tbsp. golden syrup
Directions

1Combine rolled oats, sifted flour, sugar and coconut.

2Combine butter and golden syrup and stir over gentle heat until melted. Mix soda with boiling water.

3Add to melted butter mixture and stir into dry ingredients.

4Spoon dessert spoonfuls of mixture onto greased oven trays.

5Allow room for spreading.

6Bake in slow oven for 20 minutes.

7Cool on trays.

8Makes approximately 36.
