  • 12 slices day-old white bread, crusts removed, divided
  • 1 lb. pork sausage, crumbled, cooked and drained
  • 2 apples, cored, thinly sliced King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.87 thru 02/09
  • 3/4 lb. (12 oz.) HOFFMAN'S SUPER-SHARP Pasteurized Process Cheddar Cheese, cut into 12 slices
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. ground red pepper

Directions

    Place 6 of the bread slices in 13x9-inch baking pan sprayed with cooking spray.

    Cover with layers of half each of the sausage, apples and process cheese.

    Repeat layers.

    Beat eggs, milk and seasonings with wire whisk until well blended.

    Pour over process cheese slices.

    Gently press remaining 6 bread slices into liquid to completely cover bread slices; cover.

    Refrigerate several hours or overnight.

    Preheat oven to 350F.

    Bake 50 min.
