- 2 1/2 c. sliced apples
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. oatmeal
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Sift flour and salt; add brown sugar and oatmeal; mix.

2Cut in shortening until crumbly.

3Spread half of the mixture in greased pan.

4Dot with butter.

5Add sliced apples and sprinkle with sugar. Cover with remaining mixture.

6Cook at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes. Cut into bars.
