Apple Caramel Dessert

Ingredients

  • 28 or 30 caramels
  • 1/4 c. Pet milk
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. butter, chilled
  • 2 eggs, divided
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1/3 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • 6 c. peeled, sliced apples
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 2 lemon rinds
  • 2 to 4 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese

Directions

    In double boiler (top) heat caramel and Pet milk.

    Stir flour, 1/4 cup sugar, salt and butter.

    Blend in bowl, 1 egg, water and oil together, then pour in flour mixture.

    Set aside.

    Blend 1/3 cup sugar, lemon rinds and apples with 1/3 cup flour.

    Use 16 to 18 inches of foil.
