- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. self-rising flour
- 1 stick margarine, melted
- 1 egg, beaten
- apples
- white loaf bread
Directions

1Mix ingredients together and set aside.

2In an 8 x 8-inch square Pyrex dish, slice thinly about 1-inch apples.

3Remove the crust from white bread and slice into 1-inch strips.

4Place strips of bread, meeting in center of dish, close together.

5Pour or spoon the margarine mixture over the bread strips and bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.

6If using Stamen or Winesap apples, bake 45 to 50 minutes.

7Peaches or strawberries can be used.
