Apple Cream Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. shredded, peeled apple
  • 3/4 c. chopped walnuts
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp. white sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar

Directions

    Sift together all the dry ingredients. Stir in the apple and 1/4 cup nuts.

    Combine butter, milk and egg.

    Stir into the flour mixture and blend only.

    Pour into greased and floured 9-inch round pan. Spread sour cream over top.

    Combine sugars and spread over the sour cream. Sprinkle on remaining nuts. Bake at 400° in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Serve warm with butter or whipped cream.
