- 6 large cooking apples, peeled, cored and quartered
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
Directions

1Slice apples.

2Place sliced apples in a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.

3Combine 1/2 cup sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon. Sprinkle on the sliced apples.

4Position plastic mixing blade in food processor bowl; place flour, brown sugar and butter in bowl. Top with cover and process until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle mixture over apples.

5Bake, uncovered, at 300° for 1 hour.

6Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
