- 2 lb. apples (8 or 9)
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter/margarine
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Peel, core and slice apples.

3Put in 2-quart casserole with water.

4Combine all dry ingredients in bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.

5Spread over apples.

6Bake 1 hour at 350°, covered, for 30 minutes, then uncovered for last 30 minutes.

7Serve warm with ice cream.
