- 1 c. flour
- 3/4 c. rolled oats
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 4 c. chopped, peeled apples
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine first four ingredients.

2Cut in butter, until crumbly.

3Press 1/2 of the mixture into a 9 in. square pan.

4Cover with apples.

5In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, water, and vanilla.

6Cook and stir until thick and clear.

7Pour over the apples.

8Sprinkle with the remaining crumbs.

9Bake at 350°F for about an hour or until the apples are tender.

10Yield: 8 servings.
