- 1 1/2 lb. cooking apples
- sugar to sweeten
- cinnamon and raisins (optional)
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/3 c. sugar
Directions

1Peel, core and slice apples.

2Grease a 2-pint dish; fill with sliced apples, layered with sugar to taste (add cinnamon and/or raisins, if desired).

3Rub butter into flour until mixture resembles breadcrumbs; add sugar and mix.

4Sprinkle crumble thickly over fruit; press down lightly.

5Put into preheated 375° oven and bake for 15 minutes.

6Reduce heat to 350°; bake about 45 minutes more, until top is light brown.

7Serve with cream or ice cream.
