Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/3 c. milk
  • 2 c. diced, peeled apples
  • 1/4 c. powdered sugar (optional)

Directions

    Mix and sift dry ingredients; add beaten eggs and milk. Batter should be thick enough to coat the apples.

    Drop in the hot oil (about the size of a tennis ball) turning over in the oil once, until golden brown and done in the center.

    Use a deep fat fryer with about 3 inches of oil or shortening at a temperature of 400°.
