- 3 lb. tart apples, cut into chunks
- 3 c. sugar
Directions

1In an 8 to 10-quart kettle, combine apples and 5 cups of water. Bring to boiling.

2Reduce heat.

3Cover and simmer about 30 minutes or until very soft, stirring occasionally.

4Strain through a jelly bag or clean pillowcase.

5Do not squeeze.

6Measure juice.

7Add enough water to make 4 cups liquid.
