  • 9-inch unbaked pie crust
  • 6 medium apples, sliced
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • dash of salt
  • 2 Tbsp. water and 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

    Make crust.

    Cut apples in slices; mix sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.

    Toss apples in mixture until all covered.

    Put apples in crust with remaining sugar mixture.

    Sprinkle with water and lemon juice.

    Dot with butter pats.

    Bake 25 minutes in 375° oven or until apples are cooked.

    Serve with cheese or cream.
