  • tart, juicy apples (such as Jonathan, Winesap or Rome Beauties; not Delicious)
  • 3/4 to 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 6 to 7 c. sliced, pared apples
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

    Mix sugar, cinnamon and apples together lightly.

    Pour into pie shell.

    Dot with butter.

    Cover with top crust.

    Flute. Sprinkle with sugar.
