- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. freshly ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. ground cardamom
- 1 medium apple
- 1/2 c. old-fashioned oats
- 1 1/2 c. apple juice
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.

2In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar and spices with a fork.

3Add apple slices and toss to coat.

4Spread apples onto prepared baking sheet.

5Place oats on a separate small baking sheet.

6Place both baking sheets in the oven.

7Remove the oats after 5 minutes.

8Allow the apples to bake for another 5 minutes (10 minutes total).

9Cool oats and apples for about ten minutes.

10In a blender, pulse the oats until finely ground.

11Add the roasted apples, apple juice, and vanilla extract to the blender and blend until smooth.

12Pour into a glass and serve immediately or chill for later.
