Apple Pound Cake

- 5 or 6 apples
- 5 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 c. orange juice
- 1 c. oil
- 3 c. plain flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cut 5 or 6 peeled apples into small pieces.

2Sprinkle with 5 teaspoons cinnamon (or to your taste) and set aside.

3In a large bowl mix ingredients (except apples) until smooth.

4Pour 1/2 cake mixture into a 10-inch greased and floured tube pan; add 1/2 apple mixture.

5Add remaining cake mixture to pan and top with remaining apple mixture.

6Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.

7Cake will be golden brown when done.

8Remove from pan immediately and cool.

9Best served cool or cold.
