  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 5 cup SR flour
  • 1 sweetened dried apples

    Preheat oven to 350F

    Spray a 10 inch cast iron skillet with cooking spray

    Divide dough into 20 balls all about the same size
  4. 4
    Roll each ball out into a thin layer that is the size of your skillet
  5. 5
    Do all 20 layers this way and bake one at a time in oven until golden brown.

    These cakes will be crisp.

    Cook your dried apples with a little water.

    You want them to be thick.

    When they are cool sweeten them to your liking and spread 2 tablespoons of apples between each layer of cake.

    This cake can be a 20 layer cake or you can make 2 10 layers which is what I do.

    I freeze one cake for later
