  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 lb. apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • any flavor jelly or jam

    Combine flour and salt in a medium bowl.

    Cut in butter until crumbly.

    Add 3 tablespoons water, mixing to form ball.

    Let stand in lightly floured cloth for 1 hour.

    Roll until thin on floured surface.

    Line buttered and floured 10-inch pie pan with dough. Cut to fit and prick bottom with fork.

    Arrange apples slightly, overlapping on dough.

    Sprinkle with sugar.

    Bake at 400° for 35 to 40 minutes or until brown.

    Spread jelly over hot apples.
