Apple Walnut Cobbler

Ingredients
- 4 c. thinly sliced, peeled cooking apples
- 1 1/2 c. sugar, divided
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 3/4 c. coarsely chopped walnuts, divided
- 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 1/3 c. butter or margarine, melted
Directions

1Place apples in a lightly greased 9-inch round cake pan. Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 cup walnuts; sprinkle over apples.

2Sift together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder and salt.

3Combine egg, milk and butter; add to dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.

4Pour over apple mixture.

5Top with remaining nuts.

6Bake at 325° for 40 to 50 minutes or until top is golden brown.

7Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
