  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. applesauce
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 eggs (unbeaten)
  • 4 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. each: cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves
  • 2 c. raisins

    Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, then spices. Add soda to applesauce. Mix in flour, then raisins and nuts, etc. Beat after each addition.
