  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • heaping tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 c. sweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 c. nuts or raisins

    Cream shortening and brown sugar.

    Add eggs.

    Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture.

    Add nuts or raisins.

    Pour into loaf pan that has been greased and floured. Bake at 350° for about 1 hour.
