- 1 c. (6 oz.) pkg. dried apricots
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 c. orange juice
- 2 c. plain flour, sifted
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Directions

1Cover apricots with warm water and soak 30 minutes.

2Drain and cut into 1/4-inch pieces.

3Blend sugar, butter and egg.

4Add water and orange juice.

5Sift dry ingredients together and add to liquids.

6Beat until smooth.

7Add apricots and nuts.

8Blend thoroughly.

9Pour into greased loaf pan which has been lined with wax paper.

10Let mixture stand for 20 minutes.

11Bake at 350° for 55 to 65 minutes.

12Cool and remove from pan.

13This recipe doubles easily to make 2 loaves.
