  • 1 c. dried apricots
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. orange juice
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

    Soak dried apricots in warm water for 30 minutes.

    Drain and cut up.

    Mix sugar, butter, egg, water and orange juice thoroughly.

    Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together. Combine these two mixtures and blend in apricots and nuts.

    Grease loaf pan.

    Pour in batter.

    Bake at 350° for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool on rack.
