Apricot Dream Bars

- 2/3 c. apricots
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/3 c. sifted flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Rinse apricots; cover with water.

2Boil 10 minutes.

3Drain. Cool and chop.

4Combine butter, sugar and 1 cup of the flour and blend together until crumbly.

5Pack into bottom of greased 8-inch square pan.

6Bake in a 350° oven for about 15 minutes, until lightly browned.

7Beat eggs and beat in brown sugar gradually. Sift remaining flour with baking powder

8and salt.

9Stir into egg and sugar mixture.

10Blend in vanilla, nuts and apricots.

11Spread over baked layer.

12Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes.

13Cool.

14Cut into bars and roll in confectioners sugar.
