  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

    Drain apricots, reserving syrup. Press apricots through sieve or puree in blender. Add enough reserved syrup to make 1 cup; set aside.
