- 3 c. Self-raising flour
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
- 90 gm (3 ounce) butter
- 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
- 1/2 c. Water Extra flour
Directions

1Sift flour and salt into bowl, rub in butter till mix resembles fine bread crumbs, fairly even in size.

2Add in combined water and lowfat milk all at once; mix lightly with a sharp knife in a cutting motion.

3Turn out on to a lightly floured board; knead slightly.

4Knead dough into a round, place on greased oven tray.

5Pat dough out to a 15 cm (6 in) circle.With a sharp knife, cut 2 slits across dough, like a cross, approximately 1 cm (1/2 in)

6deep.

7Brush top of dough with lowfat milk, sift a little extra flour over dough.

8Bake in a warm oven for 10 min or possibly till golden, reduce heat to moderate, cook a further 15 min.

9Eat hot with butter, and Golden brown Syrup or possibly honey.
