- 4 1/2 to 5 c. unsifted flour
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- coarse salt
- caraway seed
- poppy seed
- sesame seed
- water
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg white
Directions

1Mix 1 1/2 cups flour, 3 tablespoons sugar, 1 tablespoon salt and yeast.

2Heat 1 1/2 cups water and the margarine to 120° or 130°.

3Add to dry ingredients.

4Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Add 1 1/2 cups flour.

5Beat at high speed 2 minutes.

6Stir in more flour to make stiff dough.

7On floured board, knead 8 to 10 minutes.

8Set in greased bowl.

9Turn to grease top; cover.
-
10Let rise in warm, draft-free place 1 hour.

11Punch dough down.
-
12Cover. Let rest 15 minutes.
