  • 1 lb. Great Northern beans (soak overnight and rinse)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3/4 lb. slab bacon
  • 8 to 10 oz. ketchup
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Cook beans until soft, not mushy. Put all, including juice, in roaster and mix (if too much juice, add gradually).

    Bake at 425° for 2 hours, covered.

    Stir and check every 1/2 hour.
  4. 4
    To brown, bake, uncovered, last 1/2 hour.
