  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. instant coffee
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 (1 lb. 4 oz.) cans baked beans
  • 1/4 c. cognac

Directions

    Mix sugar, water, coffee, vinegar, mustard and salt together in saucepan.

    Start oven at 350°.

    Arrange layers of sliced onion and beans in casserole.

    Pour in mixture.

    Bake, covered, for 45 minutes.

    Remove cover; stir in cognac.

    Continue baking without a cover for 30 minutes more.
