  • 1 lb. Great Northern beans
  • 2 onions, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, minced
  • 1/4 bunch parsley, minced
  • 2 toes garlic, minced
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 lb. bacon
  • water
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    The night before, wash beans and cover with water.

    (Do not use as much water as you would if you were making beans and rice. Just barely cover the beans with water.)

    The next morning, put beans on to cook, about 1/2 hour.

    Later, in a small amount of oil, saute vegetables until clear.

    Add the can of tomato sauce to vegetables and stir.
  6. 6
    Add to beans and cook until beans are tender.
