  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk, scalded
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Combine eggs, sugar and salt.

    Slowly stir in slightly cooled milk and vanilla.

    Place six 5-ounce custard cups in shallow pan on oven rack.

    Pour hot water around cups one inch deep.

    Pour in custard.

    Bake in 325° oven 40 to 45 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

    For one large custard, bake in a one-quart casserole 60 minutes or until done.

    Do not cut until it is completely cool.
