  • 1 (16 oz.) can sliced peaches
  • 1 (16 oz.) can sliced pears
  • 1 (16 oz.) can pineapple chunks
  • 1 (16 oz.) can apricot halves
  • 1/3 c. raisins
  • 1/3 c. walnuts, broken
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 lb. butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 slices white bread, toasted

Directions

    Drain peaches, pears and pineapple in a colander.

    Drain apricots and keep separate from other fruit.

    Put all fruit except apricots in a large bowl.

    Add raisins, walnuts, 1/2 cup brown sugar and vanilla.

    Mix lightly.

    Pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking pan and place apricots evenly on top.

    Cut toasted bread slices into 1/2-inch squares and place on top.

    Pour melted butter and balance of brown sugar over entire mixture.

    Bake at 325° for 30 minutes.
