- 5 ripe tomatoes, thickly sliced
- 1 c. grated sharp cheese (Cheddar or Swiss)
- 1/2 c. bread crumbs
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp. fresh chopped basil or tarragon
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°.

2Arrange tomato slices in large shallow baking dish.

3Top evenly with cheese and bread crumbs.

4Season with salt and pepper to taste and sprinkle the herbs over all. Bake uncovered for about 1/2 hour or until cheese melts and everything is bubbly and delicious smelling.
