  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 2 c. White Lily all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. mashed bananas

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Add beaten eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture, then add buttermilk.

    Add bananas and pecans last.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until knife inserted in center of loaf comes out clean.

    (Bake bread in loaf pan or Bundt pan.)
