- 3/4 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 3 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 eggs
- 4 large ripe bananas
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and cream well.

2Combine flour, soda and salt together, then add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk to the shortening and sugar mixture.

3Mash banana and add to cake mixture.

4Last add cup of chopped pecans and vanilla.

5Bake in slow oven until top springs back when pressed. Bake at 325° for about 45 minutes. Bake in an angel food pan or a 12-cup Bundt pan.
