- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk, scalded
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 18 vanilla wafers
- 3 bananas, sliced
Directions

1Blend 1/2 cup sugar, flour and salt.

2Add milk.

3Cook over hot water until thick, stirring constantly.

4Cover and cook 15 minutes.

5Beat egg yolks and add to custard slowly.

6Cook 2 minutes longer.

7Keep covered and cool.

8Add vanilla.

9Line casserole with vanilla wafers.

10Put banana slices on top. Continue until all vanilla wafers and banana slices are used. Pour custard over them.

11Beat egg whites until stiff.

12Add 1/4 cup sugar.

13Spread over custard.

14Bake in 325° oven for 20 minutes.
