  • 1 c. sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Combine all ingredients and cook over a medium flame, stirring real often, until mixture is thickened.

    Alternate layers of bananas and vanilla wafers with mixture.

    Top with meringue made with 3 egg whites and 2 tablespoons sugar, whipped until stiff. Bake at 375° until brown.
