  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Combine dry ingredients (sugar and flour). In saucepan, bring butter, Crisco, cocoa and water to boil and pour over flour/sugar mixture. Stir well and add remaining ingredients. Mix well; pour in greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.
